Response operations ashore insignia authorized Members who meet the eligibility requirements for temporary or permanent entitlement of the Response Operations Ashore Insignia as outlined in the Response Operations Ashore Qualification Insignia Instruction are authorized to route the request e-form through their chain of command. This form can be downloaded from the Office of Shore Forces (CG-741) website. For more information, see ALCOAST 150/23. Prevention operations ashore insignia authorized The Prevention Operations Ashore Insignia replaces the Marine Safety insignia. The actual insignia remains the same and continues to recognize members who have obtained the skills and experience to be considered professionals within the marine safety field, however, the qualifying competences have changed to reflect current operations ashore workforce roles. Those currently wearing an approved Marine Safety insignia can continue to do so. Members who are already pursuing the legacy Marine Safety insignia may continue to qualify for entitlement using the previous requirements until Oct. 31, 2023. Correcting military records post Covid-19 Personnel Service Center is removing all CG-3307 Administrative Remarks Entries related to the COVID-19 vaccination mandate from the records of current military members by March 31, 2023. Members whose military record still contains a CG-3307 related to the COVID-19 vaccination mandate after that date should contact their P&A shop to request removal. RHRP contractor transition Changes are coming to the Reserve Health Readiness Program— the contract will fully transition from Optum Serve (formerly LHI) to QTC by June 1, 2023. The RHRP remains an option for reservists and other Coast Guard personnel on TRICARE Prime Remote for: PHAs, dental readiness exams, immunizations, labs, and certain physicals. For more information, see ALCOAST 086/23. Updated reserve guidance on rescission of Covid-19 vaccination mandate Unvaccinated reservists are authorized to submit an RCC change request. Unvaccinated reservists are authorized to be issued voluntary active duty orders of any type. Reservists in the ISL seeking to reaffiliate with the Ready Reserve, send form CG-1001 to PSC-RPM-3 at:HQS-SMB-CGPSC-rpm-3- [email protected], requesting to move from the ISL to the IRR, as the first step. ISL members desiring a SELRES assignment shall annotate their intention in block 19. Members being transferred from the ISL to the Ready Reserve will not receive back pay or participation credit. Email retention policy to change Beginning March 1, 2023, the Coast Guard will automatically start deleting emails older than 10 years from the system for all but a specified group of senior leaders. The emails will be deleted based upon the dates they were sent or received. If commands have a business need to retain emails or attachments beyond the 10-year period, command records coordinators can advise on best practices and storage. Authorization of law enforcement operational clothing The use of the law enforcement operational clothing (LEOC) for non-tactical operations by law enforcement (LE) designated units is authorized. The LEOC is an alternate option for COs and OICs to consider for their boarding teams when conducting maritime law enforcement operations in accordance with the Coast Guard Maritime Law Enforcement Manual. All unit boarding team members must wear the same Coast Guard apparel. This option must be worn with the external body armor carrier. The use of concealable body armor with this option is not permitted. Patches on the LEOC are not authorized. The LEOC may be purchased with unit operating funds; members are not authorized to purchase the LEOC with personal funds. For more information, see ALCOAST 166/23. Continuation of ceremonial advancement This policy announced in ACN 024/21 established an option for Coast Guard enlisted members to be ceremoniously advanced on a date most conducive to the member's desires and the unit's operational schedule. COs and OICs are authorized to conduct ceremonial advancements at any point during, and 30 days prior to, the lifecycle of the current advancement eligibility list. Update for awards, certificates, and citations All military award recommendations, certificates, and citations submitted on or after Oct.1, 2023, need gender neutral pronouns.
